MASCI to the European Parliament

Pubblicato: Mercoledì, 18 Settembre 2019
Next October 8 a delegation of MASCI will go to Brussels, to the European Parliament, to present the appeal launched by our Movement "for a planned reception and for the service of the people".  Masci and Focsiv are side by side in the awareness that it is necessary to face the epochal question of migrations in the Mediterranean and to promote a culture of acceptance and support for the brothers and the sisters who along the escape from wars in their respective Countries reach our continent in desperate conditions.  The Secretary of the Masci of Lazio, Carlo Bertucci, will head the delegation of adult scouts who will meet, starting at 3 pm, Patrizia Toia, member of the European Parliament, and David Sassoli, President of the European Parliament. Speakers will include our President Sonia Mondin and the president of Focsiv, Gianfranco Cattai, and will discuss the problem with journalist Luca Geronico also Luca Jahier, President of the Cese and Mathius Lukwago, President of the ISGF World Committee, which represents the scout adults in the world.  With International Secretary Anna Maria Volpe we will discuss with two important representatives of the European institutions involved in this field: Laura Corrado, Head of the Unit responsible for Legal Migration and Integration of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Migration and Internal Affairs,  and Beatrice Covassi, who until recently was Head of the European Commission Representation in Italy.  At the end of the meeting, the Masci delegation will deliver the over 35 thousand signatures collected in favor of a petition which asks among other things for the security of humanitarian corridors and the overcoming of the Dublin Convention.  We wish the Masci and Focsiv a good job on this difficult journey!
